Knee decompression is an effective and excellent non-surgical option for people who suffer from knee pain due to osteoarthritis, bone spurs, trauma-related knee pain, degenerative arthritis, and other chronic knee conditions. It helps replenish depleted Synovial fluid within the knee joint, which is the fluid that lubricates joints during movement. It also breaks down adhesions caused by injury to the knee. Studies show knee decompression is more effective at decreasing pain and improving quality of life than ultrasound and exercise combined.
Cold Laser Therapy, or low-level light therapy, which has successfully treated acute and chronic conditions. Bodies that have endured chronic injury can reap various benefits such as pain reduction, improved muscle strength, and increased knee movement. Cold Laser Therapy can also be used right after a new injury has occurred to speed healing, restore any disrupted knee function, and stop further damage.
Cold lasers involve using handheld wands, usually the size of a flashlight, that use specific wavelengths of light to accelerate cell regeneration. Our clinic's doctors will place the laser directly over the area of focus for a few minutes. As the light energy reaches the targeted area, it can help eliminate pain and reduce swelling. It is highly effective for treating both chronic pain and acute injuries. The visible red light releases frequencies to the treated area. This light can promote healing by increasing the cells' energy levels and improving communication between the cells.
Ultrasound therapy is a method of treatment commonly used during physical therapy. Its primary purpose is to apply deep heating to soft tissues in the body, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and the joint of the knee.
Ultrasound therapy is implemented with an ultrasound machine that has an ultrasound transducer (sound head) attached. With a light gel applied to the skin to reduce friction and promote the transmission of ultrasonic waves at an approximate frequency range of 0.8-3.0 Mhz., the soundwaves submit a vibration through the local tissues, which causes the heating effect. Moreover, ultrasound therapy promotes tissue relaxation, local blood flow, pain relief, and scar tissue breakdown in the body.
Over time your cells deteriorate or get injured, and when that happens, they lose their magnetic charges - and with them, the ability to exchange ions. Symptoms like inflammation, fatigue, and pain are caused by damaged cells with low charges. PEMF technology targets the affected area, helping to restore cells’ healthy electromagnetic charges.
Devices that utilize PEMF technology emit electromagnetic waves at different frequencies to stimulate and encourage your body’s natural recovery process. The idea is that pulses at low frequencies can pass through the skin and penetrate deep into the muscle, bones, tendons, and even organs. This process activates the cell’s energy and promotes natural repair mechanisms. Depending on the extent of the issue, PEMFs can address a slight imbalance quickly and can provide more substantial change over time.
Red Light Therapy is an advanced low-level light therapy that has been around for ages. Some would say it’s been around as long as the sun because it produces the same type of light. The difference is that Red Light focuses on a particular area experiencing pain or discomfort.
When the light touches your skin, the warming sensation you feel is the ultraviolet rays penetrating your skin to reach the deep tissues and nerves. These rays help increase blood flow and circulation and decrease inflammation to benefit the body’s cardiac system, regenerative abilities, and nerve rehabilitation, making healing much faster.
Knee stiffness and pain can arise for several reasons, including an acute sprain or strain and damage to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, or joints. However, injury to the soft tissues does not have to occur in a dramatic accident — it can also slowly develop over time. Fortunately, Rehabilitative Therapy can address these symptoms, help ease your pain, and improve your range of motion through stretching and focused exercise.
Dr. Jay is Awesome!! Went in for special price exam and x-rays. I've had knee problems for many years & now I have Diabetes& nerve pain is terrible!! Dr. Jay has really helped me with light therapy!
I went into Southbay Wellness Center with an injured knee and back scar tissue. My back feels great and my knee is getting well without surgery or any invasive procedure. Dr. Jay knew how to help me recover from my injuries. I highly recommend him to avoid surgery and untold amounts of medication!
The office is highly respectful of our time and is very flexible with scheduling. I enjoy the treatment experience with the clinic. Friendly and fun staff! They’re amazing! What appealed to me about the service is the potential effectiveness in improving knee health without drugs or surgery. I am not in pain - for me pain reduction is not an objective. The effectiveness of the treatments is still playing out for me. I started treatment in mid-April to improve my knees’ physical response to workouts. The longer term objective is to get back to an ability to perform sprints on flat grass surfaces without an inflammatory response post workout. I am still experiencing some inflammation in my knees, but in general I am noticing improvements. I have not reached a level of improvement to attempt a sprint workout yet. I’ll repost as progress occurs. Added Post 7/8/2022: At this point I have completed 3 months of treatments. I have noticed a significant improvement in knee health. Less fluid in the joints for e.g. I experience better recovery from workouts, and I have begun to return to a modified sprints workout on grass, with knee sleeves. With the at-home equipment I believe I'll be able to continue to stimulate continued recovery and healing as needed. This was a live experiment for me - and a success. I expect further improvement as well.
Awesome!!! I’ve had knee issues due to Osteoarthritis (according to my Knee Specialist). With several visits to Dr. E and his team, I’m able to get the full usage of my knees without any pain. The “Knee On Trac” with Laser treatment gives immediate comfort with each session. The back stretch machines are awesome as well. Everyone is different and not all injuries are the same, but I am sure Dr. E will put a plan in place to help.
Our son was having knee pain but no problems showed up on his mri or X-ray. We went to South Bay Wellness Center and he was treated so well and they immediately started therapy on his knee. This was state of the art therapy and the doctor was extremely knowledgeable and calm with us. We are so happy we found this place! He is already feeling better after one visit. Thank you!
I have pain issues in the joints for my lower body. Dr J came up with a plan and provided treatment as an immediate relief for the pain. The way I would describe his treatment is he tried to pinpoint the original cause of the problem and uses a range of treatments to improve the situation. So that means x-rays to pinpoint, nutrition from within, chiropractor services, laser therapies, electricity therapies, stretch machines/routines. Pain is not an on/off switch so I am hoping to treat my pain over time.
